Guam
Trip - Skydiving!!
- By
far the most exciting thing that Audrey and I did on our vacation was
skydiving. We are both adventurous and after I brought up the
idea when we were planning the trip, it wasn't too long before Audrey
said, "Let's do it!"
- Skydive
Guam was the name of the outfit that we jumped with. The company's
van picked Audrey and I up at the hotel and took us to the airport.
After filling out a million disclaimer and insurance forms, we
were shown a short training video. There were four other
people who were going to jump with us. Each of us had a tandem
partner, a "jump master" who was strapped to our backs and
pulled the 'chute at the right time. Here we are at the airport
before we got onto the plane. My jump master, Johnny, is standing
on the left. Audrey's jump master, Big Foot, is standing on the
right.
- Audrey
and I decided to get one additional person who jumped with us to take
video and pictures of our adventure. It as well worth it! The
camera guy/gal had both the video and the regular cameras built into
their helmet. This was taken in the plane on our way to the drop
zone. We were going to jump today at 10,000 feet!! Audrey
flashes the "thumbs up" and the smile. Johnny is giving
me some last minute instructions.
- We
are close to 10,000 feet! Here I am thinking, "I can't believe
we are actually about to do this!!!"
- The
moment of truth has arrived! Here Audrey is at the door looking
down 10,000 feet to the ground. Her camera gal is hanging on outside
the plane when she took this photo. That's my camera guy inside
and you can see his helmet with the cameras attached. Audrey is the
first one to jump out of the plane with me a few steps behind! Isn't
she a brave girl!!!
- Since
Audrey jumped first, we'll follow her descent first. Audrey is
having fun, she is all smiles all the way down! Can you imagine
her feeling as she is falling toward the earth at over 100 miles an
hour?
- WHHHEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!
- What
a smile!!! Or is that just the wind blowing her mouth open???
